One of the hottest niche on Internet currently is technology news and deals reporting and i suppose Cnet was a major guy in this field which it recently went to CBS for whooping US $ 1.8 billions ! Also software reviews, tech analysis, technology research have gained momentum and are currently one of the highest paying keywords in Google.
Like for e.g, labnol is one of the leading sites in software reviews. Web is getting fast and web 2.0 has advanced more than expected and god knows what will be web 3.o if it evolves. The things that are impossible will be evolving in web 4.0 if it ever comes out. People have now got their own opinion of deals that happen everyday and tech news is one such site. Cnet networks goes to CBS
CBS has bought the giant network, the CNet network for $ 1.8 billion, i.e $ 11.5/share. CBS is now in the top 10 of largest Internet companies in the world and they are gearing up for top 5 :) This deal includes Cnet's other sites like ZDnet , etc I think Cnet did the right thing by selling itself as it was going in loss past several months with increasing competition with other tech sites like tech crunch which have more UV than Cnet. Cnet delivered everything from tech news to software downloads, analysis, etc. and was well organized network. Well, the JANA must be quite happy with this deal i suppose as they have got 44% higher share value.

I will be discussing and writing about some important tech news happening in web 2.0, so try to stay tuned on tech abc. I will try to do analysis of tech news, making it simple ABC for you.
